ABOUT

JILL IVEY | ASSOCIATE

Prior to joining ELISE in summer 2008, Jill worked briefly in management consulting before starting as a marketing and communications coordinator at a local, non-profit arts organization. In the past, she has freelanced for Canary Promotion + Design and assisted Philadelphia’s Vagabond Acting Troupe, of which she is a member, with press outreach.

In her spare time, Jill edits popular Philadelphia cityblog Phillyist. As she receives hundreds of pitches and press releases every week, she is good at discerning what works and how to grab somebody’s attention quickly. Her blogging experience helps ELISE stay on track with the rapidly changing world of social media.

During her undergraduate years at the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in English with a concentration in creative writing, Jill coordinated recruitment and outreach efforts at the Kelly Writers House. She also helped with the marketing of student theatre groups, when she was not performing in their plays. Jill hails from the border town of El Paso, Texas, but fell in love with Philadelphia during college. She is currently working part-time toward a master’s degree in creative writing at Rutgers University-Camden.

Clients Jill has worked with have been covered by leading media outlets such as the Associated Press, Inventors Digest, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Washington Times, as well as by Philadelphia’s NBC and ABC affiliates; WHYY and KYW Newsradio; and popular Web sites PhillySkyLine.com, uwishunu and Geekadelphia.
